Born in Chattogram, Bangladesh, Priya Rakkhit Sraman grew up surrounded by the open green fields and the diverse religious/spiritual and cultural environment which is a special feature of the region. At the age of eleven, he ventured out beyond his homeland when he travelled to Colombo, Sri Lanka through a week-long journey via Kolkata and Chennai, India. His academic journey took him next to Thailand for college. Upon graduation from college, he moved to Hong Kong for a master’s degree (Master of Buddhist Studies) and then to Boston, USA for his second master’s (Master of Divinity). His experiences in different countries brought him a rich understanding of international cultures, languages, lifestyles, communities, and spiritual lives. Today, he continues to serve as a chaplain, educator, and spiritual guide to members from all walks of life in Higher Education in the US. When he finds the opportunity, he likes to travel to continue his interest in world cultures and peoples’ stories.
